Privacy Notice
Effective Date: June 1, 2026
1. Privacy Statement
We respect your privacy and handle any information you entrust to this site with the greatest care. We will not use your information in ways to which you have not consented or that are not required by law.
2. Information We Collect
Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included, as visitors can download and extract that data.
Contact Forms
Our request-for-information forms require users to give us contact information. This is used to respond to inquiries and provide requested resources.
3. Cookies
We use cookies to enhance your experience:
- Comments: If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name and email in cookies so you don’t have to fill them in again. These last for one year.
- Login: Temporary cookies are used on our login page to see if your browser accepts them. If you log in, we use cookies to save your login info (lasts 2 days) and screen display choices (lasts 1 year).
- Analytics: We may record your IP address and browser type to determine which pages are most popular and to improve the site’s usability.
4. Third-Party Content & Services
- Embedded Content: Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, etc.). This content behaves exactly as if you visited the other website, and those sites may collect data or use their own cookies.
- Service Providers: We may use third-party vendors (such as email newsletter services) to process your information for business purposes. These vendors are prohibited from using your data for any other activities.
5. Data Retention and Your Rights
- Retention: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically.
- Your Control: If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you or request that we erase your data. This does not include data we are required to keep for legal or security purposes.
- Spam Detection: Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
6. Security
We employ security measures to ensure that the data you provide is not lost, misused, or altered. While we use encryption (HTTPS) to protect information submitted via web forms, please avoid sending highly sensitive personal information via clear text email.
